yband therapy goes overseas!
A few weeks ago, our CEO Christoph Rickert had the incredible opportunity to join a group of Swiss startups for the Innosuisse US Market Entry Camps. Christoph represented yband therapy during the activities and in addition, had the opportunity to meet with representatives of several rehabilitation clinics and hospitals on the east coast of the United States. According to him, this had to be a calculated move due to differences between European and US markets. “We’ve been planning for a long time to enter the US market in 2019. An important step for such an endeavor is to understand the local business environment: Are the needs the same as in Europe? What are the issues that need to be addressed? The Innosuisse/Swissnex market entry camps initiative offers a unique opportunity to explore exactly that aspect”, he said.
The activities were split in two phases: first, a week with interviews of key opinion leaders (KOLs) of leading East Coast rehabilitation hospitals and second, a few days focused on networking with incubators and the startup-ecosystem in the Boston area, in addition to several meetings, facilitated by Swissnex, with specialists on legal topics, market research and others. “The feedback of the KOLs was very positive: the need for a product such as the “ARYS™ me” is enormous. The inpatient stay in hospitals or rehabilitation clinics after a stroke is shorter than in Europe. Therefore, remote patient monitoring and patient reported outcome is in high demand”, he stated.
What’s to come in the future for yband therapy? According to Christoph, good things are on the way. “We have now kicked off the detailed planning for the US market entry, and one of the very important steps is to clarify the regulatory pathway”, he said. Stay tuned, because 2019 promises to be an exciting year for our company as we explore challenging new horizons.
